UN University Scholarships For New International Students 2019
Scholarship Description: The United Nations Africa Scholarship awards over 100,000 scholarships for bachelor degree, masters, and postgraduate study and professional development to citizens of developing African countries each year. The International scholarship awarded by the United Nations provides monthly financial assistance to qualified candidates and also give them the ability to study and work in any country of their choice all through the period of programme. The scholarship is available to South Africa, East Africa, and West Africa countries only.
Interested students must have obtained a high school leaving certificate to qualify for the scholarship. Part-time students are eligible to apply for the scholarship only in circumstances where the applicant is able to demonstrate heavy career commitments or a medical condition that precludes them from studying full time. Students may be either internal or external students. Both international and domestic students are eligible to apply. (Any stipend award for international students will be subject to confirmation of a full fee scholarship for the corresponding period.) Students who hold another scholarship may apply. Masters/PhD student must work on writing their thesis full time (a minimum of 35 hours per week) for the duration of the scholarship (i.e. they must have completed the research stage).The application form must be completed online or through the hard copy. The successful applicant will be chosen at the sole discretion of the United Nation.
All successful students/applicants are eligible to receive Scholarship regardless of domicile. The grant is awarded to successful candidates prior to the annual intake for that International School. The Scholarship is intended to provide additional financial support to help International Students bridge some of the financial burden attached to taking on Degree & MBA programmes.
English Language Requirements: If English is not your first language then you will need to show that your English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in your studies.

UNU-WIDER only receives online applications for the PhD Internship Programme twice each year.
The deadlines for submission of applications are 31 March and 30 September 23:59 UTC+3 2019. When applying in September, you would be visiting UNU-WIDER in the period February-June of the following year and when applying in March, you would be visiting UNU-WIDER in the period August-November of the same year.
